Picking a Fight With a Bear Could Be Hazardous to Your Health

Picking a Fight With a Bear Could Be Hazardous to Your Health

Famous Russian writer Alexander Prokhanov describes the popular mood in his country following attacks on civilian and military aircraft

The attack on our planes over Sinai and in Syria is an attack on our principles and to our nationhood. It’s part of a plan to move the goalposts, to sow dissension between nations, and split the Russian community. But it didn’t work. Russia is united as never before in recent times.
Moving through these days’ political meetings, round tables, talking with people on street, it feels as though a long-awaited spiritual mobilization is under way. It’s not one of those long queues of reservists arriving at military posts with their duffle bags. This is a mobilization of the spirit, a psychological mobilization of energies stored deep within our consciousness.
We’ve long been too relaxed, carelessly chasing ‘stuff’, addicted to stupid serials or meaningless talk shows. Now all this is coming to an end: our people are more serious, more aware, increasingly interested in their spiritual wealth, accumulated through the ages of Russian history.

They still have the codes that unlock ancient wisdom,  having re-entered the dense layers of Russian historical time. The idea of a strong state, of serving our homeland once again fills our minds, a vigilance that methodically  tracks every threat and danger as they approach.

It’s not a good idea to tease the Russian bear; he doesn’t like it. When bombs explode in his kingdom, the Russian bear holds out his mighty claws and rakes over all his abusers, wherever they may be.
