Now and again I venture on to the Guardian website, just to keep an eye on the crazies. At the moment they are in full on meltdown over Trump and Brexit, but I also noticed a video that told me that the West was built on racism. And it’s time we faced that! (especially you over there in the corner, you closet racist).
I will not lay it all out word for word but essentially in it we are told: the dead white men that won the West, were all in fact horrid slave owners and oppressors who butchered the innocent.
Now it is true that the Founding Fathers of the US were slave owners. But the story did not end there did it? The statement in the Declaration of Independence that was written by ‘white men’ that all men are created equal (by God) was the spark that lit the fuse towards the abolition of slavery.
