So It Has Now Been A Week, And…. – The Burning Platform

So It Has Now Been A Week, And….

… the following is quite clear.
  • The cops will not protect you.  It is not their job, despite your belief that it is and their slogans on their cars. The police sat outside Pulse for three hours after knowing there was an active shooter inside. He was obviously still shooting at that point because when they did breach the wall he came out firing (and was killed) and as such it is essentially a certainty that some of the people who died could have lived but for the three hour delay at coming in which was an entire voluntary decision on the part of the cops.  Whatever hero worship beliefs you may hold toward police officers you had better disabuse yourself of that notion right now because that crap and the public’s “support” of same just got a bunch of people killed.  These so-called “police officers” should be getting the upturned middle finger everywhere they go from this day forward for their outrageous cowardice.

  • Said cops might shoot YOU by accident due to horrible trigger control.  So-called “suppressive fire” certainly has a place — fire that is “pointed” rather than aimed — as it is useful to try to force a bad guy to keep his head down, and thus not be able to aim at you.  But it is utterly unacceptable for a police officer to ever use same in any situation where civilians may be present; one of the first rules of shooting is that you own every round you discharge until it comes to rest.  If there are innocent people present suppressive fire is very likely to hit them and thus its use is the very definition of gross negligence.  The cops did so at Pulse and they should be indicted on manslaughter charges if, as I suspect, it proves up that they wound up hitting some of the patrons.  One of the best arguments for you being armed is that you will be held accountable for all of your rounds but the cops won’t be — as such you’re far more likely to be damn careful with where yours go while they literally don’t give a crap.

DHS Wants to Ban the Words 'Jihad' and 'Sharia' | The Daily Sheeple

DHS Wants to Ban the Words 'Jihad' and 'Sharia'

Following the Orlando nightclub shooting, Donald Trump dared President Obama to call the attack an act of radical Islamic terrorism. To the surprise of no one, the president never uttered the words ‘Islamic’ or ‘radical,’ and instead referred to it as “an act of terror and an act of hate.”Which has to make you wonder, will Obama’s politically correct rhetoric trickle down throughout the rest of the federal government?
It certainly has in the Department of Homeland Security. The DHS recently issued a report suggesting that the terms ‘sharia’ and ‘jihad’ should be avoided. Specifically, the words should be stricken from “Countering Violent Extremism” programs (which itself is a politically correct term) in an effort to eliminate an “us vs them” mentality. These CVE programs are aimed at protecting “our nation’s young people from extremists who prey upon the Millennial generation.” Other words that will be avoided include ‘takfir’ and ‘umma.’
Of course, neither Obama nor the DHS will admit that this is political correctness, even though that’s clearly what it is. No explanation is given for how avoiding these words will help prevent violent extremism from reaching young people, Islamic or otherwise.
If anything, this PC lingo will only help extremism. If descriptive words are stricken from our lexicon, then we can’t describe what is in front of us. And when you can’t identify something as extreme or violent, then it is indistinguishable from that which is moderate and peaceful. How do you fight a threat that you can’t even describe?
And that right there, is the absurdity of political correctness in a nutshell.

HOGS TO SLAUGHTER « The Burning Platform

HOGS TO SLAUGHTER

Guest Post by Hardscrabble Farmer
America is a third world country, it’s just not ready to accept that reality yet. Politically it is thoroughly corrupted, economically it is too deeply indebted to ever extricate itself, morally it is without direction, rudderless in dangerous seas and heading for the rocks.
The divides between the wealthy and the impoverished too wide to ever cross, the races and generations set against one another deliberately, provoked hourly by the very people who should be doing everything possible to unite them, armed to the teeth, seething with rage, neutered or enraged by pharmaceuticals, depending upon the age and gender, divided by sex, generations of fatherless children at every level raising up children who have no connection to anything that isn’t coming from a glowing screen- and all the while deliberately it seems, provoking hostility with every nation, every race, every people and persuasion in order to stir up a seething cauldron of slights and revenge for the coming reckoning.
Those once magnificent buildings will burn and the swarms that dwelt there will fan out, like flames across the face of the old nation looking to settle the score, imagined or real.
Last night I had a dream. One of the last things I did before I called it quits just after dark was to feed the hogs. I stood on the tailgate of the truck and emptied bags of watermelon rinds and soft mangoes, wilted heads of lettuce, bunches of carrots, apples, sweet yellow hothouse peppers imported from Holland, strawberries by the gallon, string beans, potatoes, cabbages and onions. The sows stood up on the fence rails and lifted their snouts to me to pet, their way of thanking me for the meal although they’d waited all day long for it.

Ex-CIA Whistleblower: 'Most terrorists are false flag terrorists, or are created by our own security services' | The Daily Sheeple

Ex-CIA Whistleblower: 'Most terrorists are false flag terrorists, or are created by our own security services'

This is a flashback interview on the Keiser Report from March 2015 with whistleblower David Steele. Steele is a 20-year Marine Corps intelligence officer and the second-highest-ranking civilian in the U.S. Marine Corps Intelligence, on top of being a former CIA clandestine services case officer.
According to Steele:
“Most terrorists are false flag terrorists, or are created by our own security services. In the United States, every single terrorist incident we have had has been a false flag, or has been an informant pushed on by the FBI. In fact, we now have citizens taking out restraining orders against FBI informants that are trying to incite terrorism. We’ve become a lunatic asylum.”
Let that sink in for a sec.

Is Islamic Terror America's Future?

By Patrick J. Buchanan
If the cliches hold — nothing succeeds like success, the past is prologue — this generation will not likely see an end to the jihadist terror that was on display at Pulse in Orlando on Sunday.
For terrorism has proven to be among the most cost-effective and successful strategies of war that the world has ever seen.
Consider. The 9/11 attacks involved 19 hijackers willing to crash airliners into four buildings: the World Trade Center towers, the Pentagon and the Capitol.
So doing, those 19 altered the foreign policy of the United States.

Orlando Victims Died Because They Were Unarmed - Not Because They Were Gay

Numerous liberty movement analysts and proponents, myself included, have been warning about 2016 and the heightened potential for multiple terrorist events.  I have written extensively on the history of ISIS, its proven ties to western governments and the disturbing program to forcefully inject millions of Islamic refugees into western nations in the name of dubious “multiculturalism,” allowing thousands of potential terrorists into our borders without obstruction.  The reality is that terrorist attacks of small and medium scale are likely to become a monthly or weekly occurrence in the U.S. and the EU as we close in on the end of the year.  Get used to the idea, because this problem is not going to go away while our own governments are aiding and even funding the very psychopaths that they are supposed to be protecting people from.
The recent attack at at gay club in Orlando by a self-proclaimed ISIS advocate, killing at least 49 people and wounding at least 53 more, was not at all a surprise.  The scale of the attack should have been expected.  No one in the U.S. should have assumed anything less given the number of dead during events in Europe.
What is frustrating, however, is that even though these attacks are highly predictable, very few Americans seem to be preparing in any meaningful way to counter them.  In fact, I happened across a clip of establishment mouthpiece Bill O’ Reilly the other day arguing that there “is nothing that we can do” to stop such "lone wolf attacks".

Immigration Economics: Illegal Aliens Are Our Bread and Butter - The Great Recession Blog

Illegal Aliens Are Our Bread and Butter

Have you ever wondered why politicians make some immigration illegal and then turn a blind eye to illegal immigration wherever it is happening … for decades? What about why they talk so much about building walls to keep out the vast hoards, rather than simply arresting the much smaller number of people who hire illegal immigrants? Surely drying up the jobs that are available to illegal immigrants would be much more economical than building a thousand-mile wall. This article will tell you why we make some immigration illegal and then turn a blind eye to it.
Have you also wondered why politicians make it illegal for millions of people to enter the country and then eventually support naturalizing those people who broke the laws these very politicians made? This article will answer that, too.
First, I’ll state that immigration is largely about economics; and by that I do not simply mean that people are coming to the U.S. to gain economic opportunity, though, of course, they are. Nor do I simply mean immigrants are taking jobs away from Americans, though, of course, they are. Nor am I going to talk about the welfare costs that come with migrant workers because those get discussed a lot.
I want to talk about a major economic factor in the immigration issue that is the elephant in the room that no one is talking about, and it’s not just a GOP elephant. Immigration economics has a dark underbelly that neither party will ever bring up. Since immigration reform is one of the major planks of the Republican’s top candidate for the presidency, there is no time like the present to talk about the elephant.

Sioux Indian Dude Emigrates To Russia For Freedom

His “100 million” claim is far off.  But, other than that, I like this guy!
If I was single with no family obligations, I would certainly consider Russia as an option. Why not?  Lots of white people, virtually zero kneegrows. Enormous amounts of space, and a government that doesn’t have 10,000 felonies listed on its registry. And (Orthodox) Christianity is making a huge comeback.

CIA Director Warns Islamic State Militants Are Coming, Smuggled As Refugees | Zero Hedge

CIA Director Warns Islamic State Militants Are Coming, Smuggled As Refugees

CIA Director John Brennan spoke before the Senate Intelligence Committee on Thursday where he is expected to warn US lawmakers that Islamic State militants are training and preparing to deploy operatives for further attacks on the West and will rely more on guerrilla-style tactics to compensate for their territorial losses.
Per his prepared remarks before the Committee, Brennan said that ISIS has been working to build an apparatus to direct and inspire attacks against its foreign enemies, as in the recent attacks in Paris and Brussels. "ISIL has a large cadre of Western fighters who could potentially serve as operatives for attacks in the West."
Most importantly, he said the Islamic State is working to smuggle them into countries, perhaps among refugee flows or through legitimate means of travel.
Brennan also noted the group's call for followers to conduct so-called lone-wolf attacks in their home countries. He called last week's attack in Orlando a "heinous act of wanton violence" and an "assault on the values of openness and tolerance" that define the United States as a nation.
It is unclear just how Brennan's testimony is supposed to comfort Americans that, as Obama has been pleading, the Orlando attack was not the result of an activist of "radicalized Islam." If anything, the CIA director's warning confirms the concerns voiced by Trump that the US is the target for deadly ISIS ambitions.

Video: Like Clockwork, Every Stupid Argument for Destroying the 2nd Amendment

spongebobguncontrol
Utterly ridiculous, but sadly predictable.
Now Jeh Johnson is saying gun control is a matter of homeland (national) security and something has to be done that doesn’t infringe on the 2nd amendment “AS INTERPRETED BY THE SUPREME COURT”. We could ask Scalia what he thinks about that, but he’s dead. Others are calling for a complete repeal of the 2nd Amendment, while still others are calling for everyone who buys a gun to have to go to a doctor to be declared mentally fit. All that on top of a renewed push for the “no-fly no-buy” loophole legislation, which, considering the Orlando shooter supposedly worked for a top DHS contractor, he was vetted more than most people to buy guns by the very agency that claims it is securing the homeland!
So tell me again… how would the “no fly no buy” list have magically prevented Orlando? Answer: it wouldn’t have.

The Rape of the West

I wanted to find a less ugly title for this article, but I couldn’t find one that still conveyed the depth of the crimes that are under way. So, apologies where they are due.
In this post, I’m going to give you an overview of what is going on and an outline of how the schemes work. I am not going to “prove” everything I write with citations and math. That’s an important thing to do, but today I’ll pass. If you doubt anything I write here, do your own research: Find the facts, question them, compare them, and forge your own opinions.

What’s Happening

Right now, people who can fairly be called the “ruling elite” are bleeding the West dry, and many of them are fully aware of what they’re doing. Others are simply “doing what works” and hiding behind slogans like “it’s all legal” that help them bypass morality.

NYTimes Declares the Gov't Should Secretly Suspend Our Second Amendment Rights

In the wake of the Orlando shooting, the gun control agenda coming out of the government and media is reaching a fever pitch. You’ve heard of how flawed the “no-fly” list is… There are babies and eight-year-olds on that thing. How did they get there? No one is too sure, but it’s all done in a secret process that the people on the list themselves are not privvy to.
Now consider the government extrajudicially canceling people’s 2nd Amendment with a “no-buy” list, as advocated in a recent NYT editorial.
Citing the Orlando terror attack that left 50 dead including the shooter and 53 wounded at a gay nightclub, the piece advocates for a “no-buy” list similar to “no-fly” lists. Under the law, suspected terrorists would not be able to buy a gun. In an attempt to ensure the integrity of the lists and preserve due process, the author proposes people only be added to this no-buy list after a secret court rules they are ineligible, similar to the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act court hearings where the federal government obtains permission to wiretap. Under this proposal, an American who has never been convicted of a crime could be denied their right to buy a gun simply because a secret court decided it should be that way.
The kicker?
[Adam Winkler, a U.C.L.A. School of Law professor] argues the secret court is a good idea because the same kind of court is already used for government surveillance, and historically, the U.S. has committed worse rights violations such as Japanese internment camps.
So the logic here is:
  • because we’re already under a police state with sweeping, unconstitutional government surveillance
  • and because the government has already committed worse rights violations in the past
  • then we should beg for an even worse police state with even more human rights violations?
Yeah. Okay. Guess that makes sense… not at all.
A + B = WTF.
P.S. – If this kind of propaganda really pisses you off, whatever you do don’t go to the NYT editorial itself and read some of the inane b.s. people are writing in the comments section about “modern interpretations of the 2nd Amendment”. It just might make your head explode…
This plan has been in the works for awhile now (via Truthstream Media, December 2015):

The FBI and NSA Won't Keep Us Safe | Mises Wire

The FBI and NSA Won't Keep Us Safe

The NSA was too busy spying on your family to stop the Orlando gunman. But why aren't night clubs keeping tabs on people who walk in with rifles?
According to various sources, the gunman in Orlando's Saturday massacre, Omar Mateen, was being investigated by the FBI. (See Judge Napolitano's interview for more, here.) But, as was the case before 9/11, the FBI keeps such a long list of so many many people, that the list tells them nothing about who is a real threat. Meanwhile, we have been told countless times that the NSA should be able to spy on anyone it wishes in order to "keep us safe." Given that Mateen was already on an FBI threat list, was the NSA eavesdropping on Mateen? If not, why not? Was the NSA too busy spying on dirt-poor backwoods members of "militias" to bother keeping track on Mateen, who, by many accounts, was a man who spoke often of his sympathy for terrorists? It's becoming increasingly evident the NSA simply collects so much information on so many people and casts far too wide of a net. What the NSA does is great for blackmailing powerful people. It's less useful in actually catching terrorists.
We have also learned that Mateen worked for a taxpayer-funded "private" security agency that is under contract with numerous government agencies around the world including the CIA. The company often provides security for Federal buildings, and presumably has access to numerous federal installations. His co-workers believed he was unhinged
Basically, it sounds just like another "success" story we've come to expect from the FBI and the US federal government in general. The Feds maintain huge lists of "suspects" but have no way of separating out the real threats from the people who just say things. The Feds insist they should be able to spy on everyone, but ignore crucial information. The Feds pay private security firms that hire people like Mateen.

Orlando Shooting -- Paul Craig Roberts - PaulCraigRoberts.org

Orlando Shooting

Paul Craig Roberts
Some readers have asked for my take on the Orlando Shooting.
I don’t have one. Let’s see if together we can form a reasonable view.
Let’s start with the basic first question. Before there can be a murder declared, there must be a body. Has anyone seen on TV or in newspapers pictures of dead bodies? Bodies should be readily available if the reports are correct that fifty people were killed and 50 or more were wounded and in hospital.
I cannot bear the presstitute TV and print media. These are full-time propaganda organizations. Hopefully, some of you hold your nose and watch the news and can fill in the spaces. Has anything we have been told been confirmed by any real evidence?

Here’s What The FBI Was Doing Instead Of Catching The Orlando Shooter | Zero Hedge

Here’s What The FBI Was Doing Instead Of Catching The Orlando Shooter

After the most recent mass shooting in Orlando, Florida — the worst in U.S. history — one might ask how the FBI was able to investigate the perpetrator, twice, without deciding to take any further action. This question is further confounded by the fact the perpetrator was, according to his wife, an abusive, unstable man suffering from bipolar disorder.
A more appropriate question would be: what is the role of the FBI in counter-terror operations? How were they not able to prevent this incident, despite “preventing” hundreds of high profile incidents prior to this?
Out of the 508 terrorism-related cases since September 11, 2001, more often than not, the FBI has had a hand in creating the very terrorist threat they have claimed to be protecting us from. Two-hundred and forty-three of these casesinvolved an FBI informant. In many instances, the targets of these operations, who are later accused of plotting attacks, are not only almost always Muslim, but they are also often suffering from a mental illness, such as schizophrenia. Moreover, the targets are also vulnerable and easily susceptible to bribery as they are desperate for money – so desperate, it seems, they will help put their own friends behind bars.
This can be seen most clearly in the Newburgh Four case, which saw a combination of mental illness and an urgent need for money. One of the “Four,” James Cromitie, was a former drug addict who repeatedly tried to back out, saying “I don’t want anyone to get hurt.” In the words of a U.S. Court Judge, “only the government could have made a “terrorist” out of Mr. Cromitie.
Another defendant in the Newburgh case, Laguerre Payan, suffered from schizophrenia to the extent he kept bottles of urine in his apartment. David Williams, another of the four, had a brother who needed a liver transplant, and he was prepared to do almost anything for the money to pay for it.

Presidential Dictatorship

Guest Post by Antonius Aquinas

Sic Semper tyrannis II
Executive orders, undeclared wars, drone hits, assassination of citizens and non-citizens alike, the overthrow of foreign regimes, domestic spying, the abetting of known criminal activities through pardons, economic planning, opening borders, monetary manipulations are just some of the nefarious activities that routinely emanate from the most dangerous political office that the world has ever painfully come to know – the United States Presidency!
The U.S. presidents can and have created a veritable “hell on earth” for their opponents, perceived enemies, and the innocent not only in the country in which they reign, but over the lives and fortunes of peoples and places where they have absolutely no authority to interfere.  While other chiefs of state have theoretically had such power, U.S. presidents have been able to inflict their destruction and chaos because, paradoxically, the nation’s free-market system, for a long time, created immense wealth which could be tapped into.

Before Nightclub Shooting, FBI Pursued Questionable Florida “Terror” Suspects - The Intercept

Before Nightclub Shooting, FBI Pursued Questionable Florida “Terror” Suspects

The attack on a gay club in Orlando in which 50 people were killed and more than 50 wounded — now the largest mass shooting in U.S. history — demonstrates how potential threats are escaping the FBI’s vast counterterrorism dragnet.
While it’s unclear whether gunman Omar Mateen’s inspiration was hatred of gays, the Islamic State, or something else, attackers like him are the intended targets of the FBI’s post-9/11 prevention program. Federal law enforcement’s top priority today is to stop the attacker of tomorrow.
But Mateen’s mass shooting is an example of how dangerous men slip past the FBI’s watch while federal agents focus on targets of questionable capacity.
Born in the United States to parents from Afghanistan, Mateen was reportedly a “known quantity” to the FBI.

Free Speech Under Attack

Offending People Left and Right

Bill Bonner, whose Diaries we republish here, is well-known for being an equal opportunity offender  – meaning that political affiliation, gender, age, or any other defining characteristics won’t save worthy targets from getting offended. As far as we are concerned, we generally try not to be unnecessarily rude to people, but occasionally giving offense is not exactly beneath us either.

offend
The motto of the equal opportunity offender….

Some people really deserve it after all…which is why we often refer to modern-day central bankers as lunatics, politicians as psychopaths, governments as gangs  of highway robbers waving a flag, and so forth. On one occasion we even provided a translation of Mr. Böhmermann’s “abusive criticism” of Mr. Erdogan, which fell afoul of a 19th century lèse majestĂ© law on Germany’s statute books.
That poem really was rude and insulting, no doubt about it. However, locking up journalists and opposition politicians under the pretext that they “threaten national security”, or bombing and suppressing ethnic minorities (for narrow and selfish political goals to boot) seems a lot worse to us.
The person responsible actually deserves to be insulted day and night, and given how thin-skinned Mr. Erdogan is, insulting him is great fun to boot. Admittedly, only as long as one is not within grabbing distance of his enforcers.

5 Ways George Orwell's 1984 Has Come True Since It Was Published 67 Years Ago | Zero Hedge

5 Ways George Orwell's 1984 Has Come True Since It Was Published 67 Years Ago

It’s debatable whether George Orwell surmised the ominous threat of totalitarianism that inspired him to pen the dystopic vision, 1984, would extend worldwide and resurface nearly seven decades after its publication. But the novel’s apt description of a world on end has undoubtedly come to pass.
Innumerable examples evidence how 1984 would better be described as a dark portent than a fascinating read, but one thing - the political language dubbed Newspeak, employed by the ruling government, Ingsoc - seems to have served as an instruction manual for the American empire.
Political language stands as arguably the most influential means to shape foreign policy. Through deliberate manipulation of speech, politicians can rally popular support for factually undesirable military operations — or stir fear of any enemy when geostrategic goals demand, even if the targeted group or government poses no actual threat at all.
On the 67th anniversary of the publication of Orwell’s 1984, the following list comprises only a fraction of possible examples of the U.S. government’s version of Newspeak.
