Cops Went to Wrong House, Shot Owner, Killed His Dog, and Even Shot a Fellow Officer, Too | The Daily Sheeple

This sounds like a joke headline from a bad movie or something… but no, sadly, this is what is being reported today out of DeKalb County, Georgia.

Three officers responded to a burglary call Monday night. Unfortunately, they responded to the wrong house. Once the gunfire stopped, the owner was shot in the leg, his dog was dead, and apparently according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, one of the cops was shot in the hip, most likely by his fellow officer:

Upon entry to the residence, the officers encountered a dog. Two officers fired their weapons striking and killing the animal in the kitchen. A male in the home, later determined to be the homeowner, exited a room off the kitchen and was also shot by the responding officers. The homeowner was shot in the leg and transported to Atlanta Medical Center, where he was treated and released. One of the responding DKPD officers was also shot. The officer was shot in the hip and transported to Grady Memorial Hospital. The officer underwent surgery and is in serious, but stable condition. Early investigation indicates that the injured officer was likely shot accidently by one of the other officers on the scene.

The preliminary GBI investigation indicates that the responding officers likely entered a residence unrelated to the initial 911 call although it matched the given dispatched description. Early investigation by GBI revealed no indication of criminal activity at the residence at 1500 Boulderwoods or on the part of the injured homeowner.

This is what happens when people randomly call 9-1-1 to report suspicious activity these days. The caller described the house, but the cops went to the wrong one. When they went into the guy’s kitchen through an unlocked rear entrance, they were met with his dog and promptly shot and killed the animal. Then the owner came out and he got shot. No one has clarified when exactly the officer was hit in this mess.

The officers have been placed on administrative leave pending an investigation, but it’s just such a bad bag of fail, what else can really be said about it?

These people are given uniforms, badges, a sense of authority and guns and this is what they do with it. The American police state is like a bad joke, accept the fact that there’s nothing even remotely funny about the reality that more than three Americans a day are killed by cops in this country.

Once upon a time, police investigated crime and made what the public hoped were common sense decisions on how to proceed with things like lethal force based upon that investigation.

Now they just show up and shoot things, apparently.
