A man was shot while attempting to rob a tobacco store at gunpoint on Thursday evening in Garfield, New Jersey.
During the hold-up at the Tobacco Road store on River Drive, the man was shot in the leg. A worker was thought to have fired his weapon at the suspect in self-defense. Police are investigating further.
This story speaks to the value of being armed when your life or business is being threatened. An attempted robbery was thwarted, and lives might have been saved, all because an individual decided that he or she was not going to be a victim and decided to carry a firearm.
When politicians, such as Hillary Clinton, say that the “right to bear arms” only pertains to police and military, are they saying that stores such as this tobacco shop should be okay with falling victim to robberies such as these?
